Evaluation of the incidence of renal vein anomalies and their relationship with renal stone disease and renal tumors by abdominal multidetector computed tomography

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the types and incidence of renal vein anomaly (RVA) their relationship with stone disease tumors multidetector computed tomography (MDCT). 
 Materials Methods: We evaluated retrospectively 10124 patients abdominal MDCT images. After exclusion criteria, final population consisted 9294 patients. The demographic characteristics patients, presence RVA, tumor were recorded. RVAs separated into three subgroups: retroaortic left (RLRV), circumaortic (CLRV), double right (DRRV). recorded in RVAs.
 Results: 1389 cases had RVA (14.9%). was higher males than females. prevalence DRRV, RLRV, CLRV 9.5%, 3.9%, 1.9%, respectively. Renal detected 20, 243 cases, there no statistically significant correlation. However, a correlation found between RLRV CRLV.
 Conclusion: Contrary popular belief, are not uncommon. It is very important know before retroperitoneal surgery prevent possible complications. In addition, thought be factors that predispose development disease.
